BANDRA – Queen of Suburbs

Description

• Bandra is one of those few localities of Mumbai which gets lit up during Christmas season
• We will be exploring the lanes and heritage villages of Bandra in evening while witnessing the celebration of Christmas & New Year in the locality
• We will be cruising through the lanes while sharing the centuries old stories of Bandra
• Back then BANDRA was just a hilly region having paddy fields and Koli fishermen on it’s shore
• We will be discussing about the life before Portuguese landed on the island, what changes did they bring with them, story of Churches, story of people living in those 24 Pakhadis (hamlets)
• It was said that “Bandra use to produce worth of one pound of gold everyday”
• Stories of: Raids, Pirates, Hidden Gold, Churches, Portuguese Styled Cottages, untold stories of families, locality and much more
• The walk will be for around for 2-2.5 hours, it’s going to be a lazy walk
