The Girgaon Ganpati Walk takes you through festive streets, historic chawls and some of Mumbai’s most iconic Ganpati mandals—including the city’s first and second Sarvajanik Ganpatis and mandals completing 100 years.
Through stories, conversations and observation, we explore how Ganeshotsav grew from household worship into one of Mumbai’s greatest community celebrations. Discover its relationship with the freedom movement, mill workers, chawl culture and the changing identity of Bombay.
